Rattlesnake Sawmill Gulch Turkey Trail


Starting Location: This is a loop that starts at the Rattlesnake Recreation Area Trailhead. Take the upper trail from the parking area to the mandatory single track. Turn right onto the Sawmill Gulch road, proceed through the gate, and then head up Sawmill Gulch. Take the second right onto a single track trail, which eventually turns into a double track trail, then winds up to the Curry ridge trail intersection. Turn left onto the Curry ridge trail, after about 1.75 miles turn left onto a short connecter trail that intersects with the Stuart Peak trail. Turn left on the Stuart Peak trail as is travels down to the south. Turn right at the next trail intersection and onto the Grant Creek Ridge trail, which is also known as the Turkey trail, named after a flock of turkeys that reside along the trail. Follow this trail as it meanders through a woody area, known as the Three Bears Trail, named after a family of bears encountered once on this ride. Continue on this trail back into Sawmill Gulch to the mandatory single track, and to the Trailhead.
